(Atlanta, GA) May 30, 2001 - LecStar Corporation's (OTC - BB: LCST) subsidiary LecStar DataNet, Inc. has launched Direct/TelConnectSM, a new international VoIP service that utilizes LecStar's VoIP Infrastructure and Cisco Systems Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) equipment, including the ATA 186 (analog telephone adaptor). After successfully testing Direct/TelConnect at various international locations, LecStar has begun marketing its new product line to International ISPs and multinational businesses. LecStar's International Voice Over IP Network in conjunction with the Cisco ATA 186 allows anyone in the world with a dedicated Internet connection to have access to true 2-way VoIP calling.
LecStar's Direct/TelConnect is a new international voice service, that will dramatically reduce the cost of calls made to the US and other countries from locations outside of North America. This new service puts the power of LecStar's network behind this cutting edge VoIP technology to create a first of its kind communications service. Direct/TelConnect eliminates the need for callback services while putting ISPs in the international long distance business almost overnight, with virtually no investment. The ISP's customer saves 50% or more on International Long Distance with the convenience of having a Direct Dial US telephone number.
Utilizing Cisco's ATA 186 device, the public Internet, and LecStar's international switching facilities, DirectTel provides customers the following features: a US telephone number and/or US 800 number, competitive US termination rates, and low country-to-country rates. Unlike previous VoIP solutions, LecStar's DirectTel product offering integrates VoIP, with a dedicated Internet connection, to a Class 5 carrier switch giving the business customer access to the Public telephone network at a significant cost savings and a viable alternative to conventional long distance without sacrificing quality of service.
