SAN JOSE, Calif., May 15, 2001 - Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSCO) and Monster.com (NASDAQ: TMPW), today announced a career search relationship to bring Monster.com's career management resources directly to Cisco Networking Academy students and graduates.

Under this new agreement, Cisco Networking Academy students will gain instant access to Monster.com's global jobs database of more than 450,000 opportunities, tips on preparing women for careers in IT, as well as its leading resume builder and 3,000-plus pages of career content. "IT workers are still in great demand even during these times of economic downturn. With over 160,000 students now preparing for IT careers through the Cisco Networking Academy Program, Monster.com can provide great value by connecting them to their jobs database," said Kevin Warner, senior director of worldwide education at Cisco Systems.

According to the recent Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) report, "When Can You Start? Building Better Information Technology Skills and Careers," over 425,000 IT jobs will remain unfilled in 2001 in the U.S. alone.

The Cisco Networking Academy Program is a 560-hour, eight-semester program that teaches students and in-transition workers to design, build and maintain computer networks. There are over 6800 Networking Academies in high schools, technical schools, colleges and universities in 128 countries. Students are also prepared for industry-standard certifications, including Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).

"Our relationship with Cisco Systems will bring our career expertise to one of the largest databases of networking and IT professionals," said Jeff Taylor, CEO of Monster.com. "This alliance will provide thousands of students and career opportunists with the resources and tools needed to develop and manage their careers and find their dream jobs. Employers will gain instant access to a pool of highly-motivated and quality candidates."

Monster.com and Cisco will create co-branded web sites, enabling Networking Academy students and graduates to search for jobs; utilize job search agents, and, in many cases, apply online; submit resumes online; personalize the area to help with their job search; and research companies offering jobs. Online job fairs and live chats with career consultants will also be available to Networking Academy students.

In addition, recruiters will be able to use these web sites to post available jobs, search Monster.com's pool of more than nine million resumes, pre-screen candidates, and maintain private and confidential lists of top candidates. Recruiters can register to be e-mailed when a matching resume is posted to the area, and candidates can apply for their positions online at http://www.cisco.com/edu/placement/monster.
