Dialpad.com Joins Cisco Powered Network Program to Deliver Free Calling Enhancements

SANTA CLARA, CA - June 15, 2000 - Dialpad.com, Inc. today announced that it is working closely together with Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO), the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, to rapidly expand the world's fastest growing free Internet Telephony service. Since Dialpad's inception in October, 1999, it has used Cisco's industry-leading voice gateways, which have been instrumental in routing over 500 million minutes of Voice over IP (VoIP) traffic. Dialpad now becomes one of the first telephony Application Service Providers (ASPs) to be designated a Cisco Powered Network provider.

As a Cisco Powered Network, Dialpad is able to provide customers free, high-performance, reliable and secure telephone calls throughout the United States. Dialpad uses other Cisco Powered Network providers to transport and terminate the phone calls; these providers in turn rely on Cisco's industry leading voice gateways throughout their VoIP networks. Dialpad's 7.5 million registered users can easily and quickly jump on the Internet, call any phone number in the U.S., and talk for as long as they want to for free.

"Cisco shares our vision that IP networks, carrying both voice and data services and connected to the universal Internet, are the pivotal foundation for delivering new, Web-based free calling solutions to consumers and businesses alike, allowing people to communicate freely," said Brad Garlinghouse, Dialpad's newly appointed CEO. "Our close relationship with Cisco will allow us to continue to push the technology envelope to greater enhancements, providing our exploding membership base with even better user experiences."

"Dialpad has been able to use the Cisco Open Packet Telephony architecture to quickly launch and grow their leading free calling service," said Alistair Woodman, director of marketing for the Packet Telephony Division at Cisco. "As a Cisco Powered Network provider, Dialpad is telling its users their free phone calls are traveling over a network built on Cisco's high-performance, high quality, VoIP solutions."

Dialpad's participation in the Cisco Powered Network program demonstrates its ability to provide industry-leading technology applications and services that are based on Cisco solutions. A benefit of the program for Dialpad is their participation in joint marketing, technology sharing and selling activities with Cisco. As an ASP, Dialpad allows both individuals and business customers to gain the benefits of these leading-edge Packet Telephony technologies and services.
