Orlando, Fla. - March 14, 2000 - Stonehenge Telecom, a "Cisco Powered Network", today announced it is expanding its existing relationship with Cisco Systems. Due to worldwide growth of its private global IP (Internet protocol) network, Stonehenge has decided to purchase additional Cisco Voice over IP (VoIP) equipment. Through this expanded relationship, Stonehenge has committed to multiphase purchases of the latest Cisco IP telephony equipment and software.
The initial phase includes the purchase of more than 250, AS5300/Voice Gateways, to be deployed throughout the United States., Europe, Asia and Latin America. Later phases included additional IP Gateways and other types of Cisco equipment. The entire series of purchases will help Stonehenge deliver the industry's most advanced IP applications to its customer base of carriers and telephone companies throughout the world.
Alistair Woodman, director of marketing for Cisco's Packet Telephony Division, stated, "Stonehenge is an excellent example of an IP service provider that is utilizing Cisco technology to deliver emerging IP voice and data applications on a global basis, taking advantage of a rapidly growing market opportunity."
