Cisco Systems and Deutsche Telekom Announce Global Business Alliance

HANNOVER, Germany, Feb 25th, 2000 - Cisco Systems, Inc. and Deutsche Telekom AG, today announced a global business alliance, providing leading technologies and services to the enterprise and consumer markets.

Under the agreement, Deutsche Telekom and Cisco will explore opportunities for creating competitive advantage that leverage the leadership position and competencies of both companies. Deutsche Telekom will gain access to leading technologies and services from Cisco, including provision of global IP-Services such as QoS and multiservice solutions, based on a Cisco Powered NetworkT platform . In addition Deutsche Telekom will be supported by Cisco in undertaking its existing IP1 and IP2 projects.

Through the agreement, Deutsche Telekom will work with Cisco as a preferred supplier of IP based technology, providing global IP products and solutions, in particular implementing new MPLS based VPN solutions and multiservice solutions over IP.

Announcing the agreement at CeBit in Hannover, Bill Nuti, President European Operations for Cisco Systems EMEA commented: "Through this alliance Deutsche Telekom and Cisco will be able to bring the most innovative applications and solutions to enterprise and consumer markets worldwide. As the Internet continues to change the nature of communications, Cisco is delighted to be working with Deutsche Telekom to evolve the next generation networks for their customers."
