MANILA, Philippines -- 26 January 2000 -- Cisco Systems Inc., outperformed all other companies in a market study on technology providers in the financial services industry in the Philippines. Conducted by Hunter Consulting, a Canadian-Filipino firm specializing in market intelligence and evaluation, the study affirms Cisco's position as the worldwide leader in networking technology for the Internet.

The survey polled the perceptions of Chief Information Officers (CIO) from securities firms (28%), insurance companies (24%) and banks (48%).

Cisco swept all 13 categories of the survey consistently scoring highest for brand name, technology quality, marketing, innovation, customer service, local presence, implementation, competency, presales support, account management, value-for-money, strategic business partnership and training.

Among the list of telecommunication equipment vendors that were surveyed, the Hunter study ranked Cisco with the highest overall performance rating of 8.00 surpassing the next highest vendor by 0.21 point. Cisco also got 8.00 points, the highest, as the overall preferred vendor end-users would mostly like to purchase telecom equipment from.
