Christine Garvey Joins Cisco Systems as Vice President, Worldwide Real Estate and Workplace Resources Group

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- November 19, 1999 -- Cisco Systems Inc., the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, today announced the appointment of Christine Garvey as vice president, worldwide real estate and workplace resources group. Garvey joins Cisco from Bank of America in San Francisco, California.

"Christine brings to Cisco a wealth of knowledge from over 20 years of experience in the real estate services industry," said Larry Carter, Senior Vice President, Finance and Administration, and Chief Financial Officer, Cisco Systems. "We look forward to having her at Cisco, especially during this time of great growth for the company."

Garvey replaces Nancy Bareilles who has been with Cisco for the last 10 years. "Cisco had 100 employees and a small office in Menlo Park when Nancy began. With her help, we have grown to 24,000 people with 8.5 million square feet in 48 countries," said Carter. "Her contribution has been significant here."

The worldwide real estate and workplace resources group is responsible for construction and development worldwide as well as facility and security operations. Garvey begins working at Cisco on December 1.

Garvey comes to Cisco from Bank of America's commercial real estate services group, where she was group executive vice president, head of commercial real estate services. In that role, she managed $12 billion in total loan commitments, as well as over $600 million in owned, serviced and trust real estate.

Christine holds a juris doctorate from Suffolk University Law School, Boston and a bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, from Immaculate Heart College, Los Angeles.
