San Jose, Calif. -- October 25, 1999 -- Cisco Systems Inc. today announced the appointment of Todd Murray as vice president, Communications Software and Network Services Group. Murray joins Cisco from SBC Communications in San Ramon, California.
"Todd brings to Cisco a wealth of knowledge from over 14 years of experience in the telecommunications industry focusing on IT operations and operations support," said Kevin J. Kennedy, senior vice president, Service Provider Line of Business, Cisco Systems. "In his role leading the Communications Software and Network Services Group, Todd will help lead Cisco's continued momentum in building a world-class telecommunications business."
The Communications Software and Network Services Group will bring together Cisco's network management and network services architecture, voice call control, signaling architectures, and open programmable switching. The new group will enable Cisco to drive the development and implementation of carrier-class New World solutions as well as provide a focal point for the Cisco ecosystem partner and development program.
Todd came to Cisco from SBC where he spent the last two years as vice president of IT Operations. In that role, he managed the internal computing infrastructure and network for the former Regional Bell Operating Company (RBOC). Prior to that position, Todd focused on the development and delivery of operation support system applications in the Software Development organization at SBC.
Todd has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo.
