Cisco Systems Canada Appoints New Director, Service Provider Operations

October 13, 1999 - Pierre-Paul Allard, general manager, Cisco Systems Canada Co. is pleased to announce the appointment of Yves Laliberté as director, Canadian service provider operations. Mr. Laliberté replaces Araldo Menegon, who was promoted to director, AT&T global operations, Cisco Systems, Inc.

In his new role with Cisco, Yves Laliberté will be responsible for all service provider line of business operations for Cisco Systems Canada Co., encompassing ILEXs, competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs), cable companies, Internet service providers (ISPs) and wireless providers.

"He will be instrumental in our efforts to create new service offerings for Cisco customers and in continuing to help service providers across Canada build out their networks in preparation for the explosive growth of Internet-enabled applications."

Yves Laliberté has over 20 years in the high tech industry, with general management, sales and marketing experience. Prior to joining Cisco, Mr. Laliberté was global vice president, sales and marketing, for Alphanet where he dedicated his time to helping expand their customer base to fifteen countries in under a year. Prior to this he was vice president, sales, for Teleglobe.
