LONDON, UK -- July 8, 1999 -- North American Gateway and Cisco Systems, Inc. today announced that they are combining efforts to offer ATM, Frame Relay, Switched Ethernet & Clear Channel leased lines to business customers.
Using a Cisco Powered Network(TM), Gateway will offer customers reliable, secure and high-performance Internet services. The relationship highlights Gateway's and Cisco's focus on using intelligent broadband IP networking to deliver enhanced connectivity and network-based applications.
Gateway's new Transatlantic ATM Service will offer seamless connectivity for data transport between the key business centres of London, New York and Toronto, supporting applications combining data, voice and video traffic over a flexible, resilient and reliable single network platform.

Gateway will deploy the BPX 8600 for ATM services. Frame Relay and clear channel circuits for voice are offered through the MGX 8220. The Catalyst 5500 will provide switched Ethernet capability.
