Cisco Systems Announces its First ECOmmunity at SUPERCOMM '99 Atlanta

25 New World Ecosystem members exhibit integrated solutions for the service provider

ATLANTA, Ga. -- June 8, 1999 -- Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSCO), the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, today announced its first ECOmmunity booth at the SUPERCOMM '99 Atlanta trade show with 25 technology participants from the recently announced New World Ecosystem. ECOmmunity exhibitors will demonstrate their innovative and integrated solutions for the service provider. The ECOmmunity partners are located in Hall G booth number 7467 3/4 near Cisco's main SUPERCOMM booth, booth number 7428.

"We're excited Cisco's first ECOmmunity booth is bringing together a number of the more than 100 participants from the New World Ecosystem program to demonstrate their integrated solutions for service providers," said Larry Lang, vice president of marketing, Cisco's Service Provider Line of Business. "Cisco's New World Ecosystem was developed so service providers, Cisco and the participants in the program could work together to quickly deploy a selection of profitable New World services for the marketplace."

The New World Ecosystem program was introduced by Cisco on May 25th, 1999 as an open and flexible program comprised of technology suppliers committed to working with Cisco in creating integrated and profitable solutions for the service providers. The new solutions will enable service providers to deliver more competitive and differentiated solutions to the marketplace. The technically integrated solutions will be based on Cisco's open architecture API (application programming interface) set, industry standards and packet technologies. In addition to the technical advantages of joining Cisco's New World Ecosystem, participants of the new program will also benefit from development equipment, technology sharing, joint marketing, sales support, and Cisco's overall expertise in the marketplace.
