SAN JOSE, Calif. - June 24, 1999 - Cisco Systems, Inc. today announced it has completed the acquisition of Sentient Networks, Inc. of Milpitas, California.

On April 8, 1999 Cisco Systems announced a definitive agreement to acquire privately held Sentient Networks, Inc. Sentient Networks has been a pioneer in high density ATM Circuit Emulation Services (CES) technology, which enables carriers to efficiently transport circuit-based private line services across packet-based ATM networks.The transaction will be accounted for as a pooling of interests.
