Cisco Canada Appoints New Director, Canadian Enterprise Operations

TORONTO, ON - June 17, 1999 - Pierre-Paul Allard, general manager, Cisco Systems Canada Co. is pleased to announce the promotion of Nitin Kawale to Director, Canadian Enterprise Operations. Mr. Kawale was formerly the manager of Cisco Canada's financial region, in Toronto.

In his new role, Nitin Kawale will be responsible for all Enterprise line of business operations, including sales, marketing, finance and distribution.

The position of Director, Canadian Enterprise Operations was created in July of 1998, as a part of a new management structure being instituted to broaden the company's senior management team, and to respond to and build upon Cisco's exceptional growth in Canada.

"In his four years at Cisco, Nitin has consistently demonstrated his leadership in driving his region's performance to high levels of success," said Pierre-Paul Allard. "He has an outstanding capacity to innovate as well as superior team building skills and has proven himself to be a key member of this team."

Prior to his joining Cisco, Mr. Kawale held various positions at NCR/AT&T from 1986 to 1995 and Datacrown/Crowntek from 1983 to 1986. His past experience included leadership roles in applied research and development, product marketing, consulting, industry planning and sales management.

He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto.
