Networking Leader and Software Provider Team to Deliver Internet
Business Solutions for Small and Medium Business Market

CHICAGO, IL. -- April 19, 1999 -- Cisco Systems, Inc. today announced that SalesLogix Corporation, a leading provider of front-office automation software for mid-market companies, is joining the Cisco Resource Network for Growing Businesses. Cisco and SalesLogix will work together to deliver Internet business solutions specifically designed for the small and medium business market.

The Cisco and SalesLogix marketing alliance allows small and growing businesses (20-100 employees) to build a cost-reducing, time-saving virtual front office to act as a central clearinghouse for the information and tools that front office professionals need to be more effective combined with networked services customers want most. A Cisco-based infrastructure, coupled with SalesLogix software, not only streamlines the traditional front-office roles of sales, marketing, and support, but also ties together a company with its channel partners, suppliers, customers, and prospects. The result is more value per relationship and more value-producing relationships.

"This marketing alliance demonstrates Cisco's commitment to the small and growing business market," said Richard Steranka, Cisco director of marketing, small medium business. "Cisco and SalesLogix have delivered on the promise of leveraging the wide reach and flexibility of the Internet."

"Our relationship with Cisco further confirms our commitment to offer the industry's broadest portfolio of Internet-enabled CRM applications for growing mid-sized companies," said Doug Nicholas, SalesLogix Vice President of Business Development. "Our customers already depend on the Internet to boost sales and service productivity. We want to ensure that they have the right technology at the right price to further exploit the Internet for their own growth and benefit."

Teaming SalesLogix sales automation and customer support applications with Cisco networking solutions enables self-service over the Web. Growing businesses can better manage their customer relations and maximize their interactive selling networks by maximizing the Internet to link employees, partners, and customers to the virtual front office. Valuable sales time is optimized, while administrative and information management hassles are reduced, resulting in lower costs and higher productivity.

"Since we began using SalesLogix and the Cisco network 18 months ago, TNS has increased in size by nearly eight times, and we have opened new branches in the United States and abroad," said Rami Musallam, CEO, Total Network Solutions, a professional services firm specializing in the engineering of leading-edge, mission critical networks for financial services firms and Internet service providers. "We have been able to streamline sales management processes and customer service, while providing a forum for timely and accurate communications between a series of increasingly dispersed remote offices. Plus our new virtual private network has dramatically reduced the cost for TNS engineers at customers' sites to connect with central resources."
