San Jose, Calif., and Yoqneam, Israel -- March 23, 1999 --Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO) and MIND CTI Ltd. today announced that the Cisco AS5300 VoIP gateway and the MIND-iPhonEX

IP Telephony Billing and Customer Care system (B&CC) are interoperable. The Cisco/MIND CTI solution affords Internet Telephony Service Providers (ITSPs), ISPs and telcos a comprehensive VoIP solution, the high performance Cisco AS5300 gateway together with the MIND-iPhonEX system for real time billing and customer care including support systems for call management, traffic analysis and fraud detection. The combined solution is being used by Australian ITSP, World Wide Net Telecom.

The first phase of the interoperability, already accomplished, allows Cisco AS5300 VoIP gateway users to employ the MIND-iPhonEX system for post-paid billing of customers and for customer care with MIND-iPhonEX Support Systems. The second phase of the interoperability will allow Cisco AS5300 gateway users to bill pre-paid customers with the MIND-iPhonEX B&CC systems.

"We have found that the Cisco gateway combined with MIND CTI's VoIP billing system is the perfect solution to expand and maintain our affiliated companies around the world. The product is highly scalable, user friendly, its features range from simple day to day customer care service to advanced billing capabilities that have put us ahead of the competition", said Gennady Volchek, managing Director of WWN Telecom.

"In working with MIND CTI as a VoIP B&CC partner, our customers are provided a complete solution that will bridge traditional technology with New World innovation," said Larry Lang, vice president of marketing for the service provider line of business at Cisco Systems. "The interoperability of the Cisco AS5300 gateway product and the MIND-iPhonEX system provides Cisco's customers with a scalable and comprehensive VoIP solution,"

"MIND is proud to be working with worldwide networking leader Cisco Systems," said Monica Eisinger, President and CEO of MIND CTI. "As a pioneer in the VoIP B&CC field we are pleased to support the advancement of interoperability between leading manufacturers' products. The combined Cisco/MIND VoIP solution is an important industry contribution providing a complete solution and making VoIP deployment with cutting edge technology available to any sized provider."

The Cisco Solution

The Cisco AS5300 server is designed to support the growing volume of dial-in and voice connections to service providers and corporate networks. It delivers optimum performance for as many as 60 voice sessions or as many as 120 concurrent analog modem calls and ISDN B channels over a single dial-in telephone number. As the next-generation Cisco universal access server, the Cisco AS5300 raises the bar for performance in high-traffic, real-world environments.

Cisco's portfolio of voice-over-IP (VoIP) enabled gateway products includes the Cisco 2600, Cisco 3600, Cisco AS5300 and the Cisco AccessPath VS3 access system. The Cisco AS5300 VoIP gateway is a high-performance H.323-compliant gateway optimized for VoIP applications. Supporting up to 2T1/E1 digital trunks, it connects with existing telephones and fax machines through the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), key systems and PBXs, making the process of placing calls over the IP network transparent to users.

According to Mier Communications, a networking consultancy and product-test center that tested the voice/fax feature cards for the Cisco AS5300, "The quality of voice, under normal network operating conditions, is the best of any VoIP product we have tested to date."
