Western Cable Show -- Anaheim, Calif. -- December 2, 1998 -- @Home Network (Nasdaq: ATHM), the leader in high-speed Internet services via the cable infrastructure, and Cisco Systems, Inc., the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, today announced the second Cisco and @Home Cable Internet Revolution Expo, a "moveable feast" of broadband cable products and services that lets consumers sample the power of high-speed Internet access. Building on the tremendous consumer response to the breakthrough twelve city 1998 Cable Internet Revolution Expo, the 1999 tour will kick-off in the spring, and will travel to twenty high-traffic shopping malls throughout the U.S. and Canada.
"The Cable Internet Revolution Expo has proven to be an excellent vehicle to show consumers and small business owners the range of Internet solutions offered by Cisco, as well as demonstrations of the reliability, security and performance of Cisco-powered cable modems from our licensees," said Robba Benjamin, vice president of Cisco's Consumer Line of Business. "We are very excited about working with @Home again this year and expanding the tour to twenty cities across the U.S. and Canada."
"The mall tour is a high-impact marketing program that reaches out and grabs consumers' attention with the single most compelling reason to join the Cable Internet Revolution: speed," said Dean Gilbert, senior vice president and general manager of @Home Network. "By allowing consumers to experience the significant performance boost that broadband provides, we're dramatically increasing awareness and understanding of how much more productive and fun the Internet is when it's delivered over cable."

Adding to the success of the tour was the marketing support of multiple system operators (MSOs) affiliated with @Home, such as Comcast, Cox Communications, TCI, InterMedia and Shaw, who supported each local event by executing aggressive advertising, direct mail, telemarketing and promotional offers.
@Home and Cisco are in the process of signing up 1999 tour sponsors, including companies producing Cisco-powered cable modems, computer hardware vendors, @Home media content partners and mainstream consumer advertisers who see the mall venue as an excellent way to give consumers the opportunity to try out new products, take a guided Web-tour of featured services and sign-up for the @Home service.
