BETHESDA, Md. -- October 20, 1998 -- KIVEX.com and Cisco Systems, Inc. today announced that they will work closely together to accelerate the national availability of the KIVEX.com Internet Building Service.
The service offers very high-speed Internet access to small to medium-sized businesses who are located in multi-tenant office buildings nation wide.

KIVEX has already begun deployment of Cisco 7500 series routers and switches across its national backbone network. In addition, KIVEX will use Cisco ADSL routers and access multiplex equipment to supply service to customers inside of commercial office buildings. The technology permits customers to receive Internet access at speeds of up to 3 million bits per second - more than 100 times the speed of a typical dial-up modem.
