Cisco Names New Board Member

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- September 30, 1998 -- Cisco Systems, Inc. today announced the appointment of Arun Sarin, president and chief operating officer of AirTouch Communications, Inc. to its Board of Directors.

The election raises the number of board members to 12.

Sarin, 43, joined AirTouch Communications in 1994 upon the spin off from Pacific Telesis Group where he spent 10 years in a variety of executive positions. Prior to his appointment as president and chief operating officer, Sarin was president and chief executive officer of AirTouch International. He is a board member of AirTouch Communications and PrimeCo Personal Communications, a joint venture between AirTouch and Bell Atlantic.

"During his career, Sarin has excelled at directing the company's fast-growing international wireless business, global strategy and development. He is one of the preeminent telecommunications experts in the industry and we are pleased we can draw upon his knowledge and expertise," said John Morgridge, Cisco's chairman of the board.
