ATLANTA, GA -- June 8, 1998 -- Telco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:TELC), a leading provider of network access solutions, announced today that it has teamed with Cisco Systems, the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet. Cisco will jointly market Telco Systems' EdgeLink100 as the DS3 multiplexer to work with the new Cisco AccessPath-TS3 Model 531 introduced here today at Supercomm '98.

The EdgeLink100's plug-and-play architecture will allow Cisco customers toquickly install and turn-up a high speed DS3 network connection to theirAccessPath-TS3 cabinets. With the EdgeLink100 option, Cisco'sAccessPath-TS3 customers have the flexibility to expand services withoutexpanding cabinets or increasing costs for additional equipment to meet growingbandwidth needs.
Introduced in January, the EdgeLink100 maximizes DS3 bandwidth in thesmallest space (1.75"Hx19"WX12"D). It is only one rack unit high and occupiesless than one-third the space compared to traditional multiplexers with similarfunctionality. It also offers 1:1 redundancy at both high and low speeds. TheCisco AccessPath-TS3 is designed to accommodate an integrated EdgeLink100DS3 multiplexer for the North American market.
Customers will buy the EdgeLink100 through Telco Systems' sales channels,equipped with the cable harness required for the integration into the CiscoAccessPath-TS3 cabinet.
