@Home Network and Cisco Systems Team Up To Bring Broadband Technology to Main Street, USA

NCTA '98, ATLANTA, Georgia -- May 4, 1998 -- @HomeNetwork (Nasdaq: ATHM), the leader in high-speed Internet servicesvia the cable infrastructure, and Cisco Systems, the worldwide leader innetworking for the Internet, today announced "The Cisco/@HomeInternet Revolution Mall Tour," which will reach consumers on today'sversion of Main Street -- high-traffic shopping malls in twelve U.S. cities.As a breakthrough traveling event on broadband Internet technology, thetour will give consumers the opportunity to "touch and feel" the power ofhigh-speed Internet services.

"By bringing live demonstrations to busy malls where mainstream America shops, we're dramatically increasing awareness and understanding of what broadband technology offers to consumers."

@Home and Cisco are in the process signing up tour sponsors, includingcompanies making Cisco-enabled cable modems, computer hardwarevendors, @Media content partners and mainstream consumer advertiserswho see the mall venue as an excellent way to give consumers theopportunity to try out new products, take a guided web-tour of featuredservices and sign-up for the @Home service. Over 360,000 consumersare expected to see the tour in the malls visited.

The tour will kick-off in August, during the busy back-to-school shoppingperiod, and will continue through November. It will be promoted in localmarkets by @Homes cable partners -- Cox, TCI, Comcast, Cablevision,Marcus and InterMedia as it travels across the country. The tour will visitmalls in: Dallas, Phoenix, New Jersey, Long Island, Connecticut,Baltimore, Philadelphia, Seattle, San Francisco, Nashville, San Diego, andOrange County (California).

Dubbed "Seeing is Believing Marketing," @Home's launch events withlocal cable partners have proven the effectiveness of hands-ondemonstrations to promote and sell broadband Internet services andrelated products. Cisco is encouraging the development of high-speedresidential Internet access in several ways, including its own productdevelopment and through relationships with service providers and productmanufacturers. "The Cisco/@Home Internet Revolution Mall Tour," willreach consumers in the center courts of shopping malls, engaging them ininteractive demonstrations.
