Secure Computing and Cisco Systems Team to Offer New Integrated Administration Features Linking Safeword with Ciscosecure

ST. PAUL, Minn. - December 18, 1997 - Secure Computing Corporation (NASDAQ: SCUR), a leading provider of total network security solutions, today announced that it is teaming with Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSCO), the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, to centralize network security administration.

CiscoSecure Access Control Server (ACS) V2.2 for UNIX , one of many solutions in Cisco's suite of specialized, security software solutions for authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA), can now administer Secure Computing's SafeWord family of strong authentication products, providing convenient, integrated administration for secure access control. To promote the solution, Secure Computing will offer CiscoSecure ACS for UNIX customers a special SafeWord Starter Kit.

Using CiscoSecure and SafeWord together enables organizations to integrate the administration of secure access control. CiscoSecure centralizes the individual access control of network access servers, firewalls, routers and switches. SafeWord provides strong authentication with one-time, encrypted password protection and is an industry leader for strong authentication system available today offering scaleability, reliability and fault-tolerance. Because most users will need access to resources protected by both CiscoSecure and SafeWord, the ability to manage both systems from a single utility saves substantial work and improves security procedures."SafeWord's one-time password offering is one of the most secure authentication methods on the market today," said George "Hoss" Christensen, director of product marketing at Cisco. The SafeWord Starter Kit will be available from Secure Computing in January. The kit includes a 10-user SafeWord Authentication Server license and 10 SafeWord Platinum tokens and is priced at $1,200. Details of the program will be available on Secure Computing's Web site.
