SAN JOSE, Calif. - December 2, 1997 - Cisco Systems, Inc. today announcedthat ARCO (Atlantic Richfield Company), an international energy company,has selected Cisco as strategic supplier for its network infrastructure.The network is expected to deliver cost-effective communications to ARCOsites worldwide while providing ubiquitous services and collaborativecomputing necessary to meet ARCO's growth agenda.
Equipment is expected to include a broad range of Catalyst. 5000Enterprise LAN switches, StrataCom. WAN switches, Cisco 7000 seriesrouters, AS5200 remote access servers, Cisco network management toolsincluding NetSys, and Cisco's highly secure, high-performance PIXFirewall.
