SAN JOSE, Calif. - November 13, 1997 - Shared Medical Systems Corporation (SMS), theworld's leading provider of health care information systems and services, and Cisco Systems,Inc., worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, today announced that they are combiningefforts to deliver the advantage of intelligent networking to the health industry.

With a Cisco Powered Network, SMS provides authorized users with remote access to criticalhealth information. SMS teamed with Cisco Systems to build a health information network thatallows users to remotely access information using multiple methods, including private dial-up,ISDN, Frame Relay and Internet for leased lines.
