DALLAS, Texas - November 5, 1997 - Curtis Mathes Holding Corp. (NASDAQ:CRTM), a leadingelectronics engineering design and marketing company, and Cisco Systems, Inc., the worldwideleader in networking for the Internet, today announced that they are teaming to offer advancedend-to-end networking services.

Using a Cisco Powered Network, Curtis Mathes will deliver the industry's leading network-basedinteractive entertainment and information services to consumers. The relationship highlightsCurtis Mathes' and Cisco's focus on using intelligent broadband IP networking to provideadvanced networking solutions to customers.

Curtis Mathes has implemented a Cisco AS5200 universal access server for the delivery ofInternet, online, telephone and entertainment services through its uniView(TM) interactiveset-top box and its Internet service, Curtis Mathes Xpressway(TM).

Curtis Mathes' uniView product enables a host of interactive services through consumer hometelevision sets. The Cisco AS5200 universal access server aggregates incoming customer callsand routes inquiries to their appropriate destination. A Cisco PIX Firewall ensures secureInternet access, and a CiscoSecure authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA) securityserver verifies subscribers when they dial in. The Curtis Mathes uniView device and CurtisMathes Xpressway network, made up of Cisco routers and Catalyst(R) switches, enable customersto surf the Web, talk on the phone, send and receive faxes and e-mail, access TV program guidesand program their VCRs.
