Cisco 2500 Series Reaches One Million Unit Milestone

SAN JOSE, Calif. - November 3, 1997 - Cisco Systems, Inc. announced today that it has shippedone million Cisco 2500 series routers, solidifying its leadership position in the remote accessrouter market.

The Cisco 2500 series began shipping in January 1994. By March 1995, 100,000 units had beensold, and the 500,000-unit mark was reached in August 1996. The million-unit milestone makesthe 2500 series the most popular router in the networking industry.

The Cisco 2500 series includes more than 20 models, each optimized to meet specific LAN and WANrequirements for branch offices and small and medium-sized businesses.
