Boeing Selects Cisco Systems for Agreement Valued at up to $124 Million

SAN JOSE, Calif. - November 10, 1997 - Cisco Systems, Inc. today announced that The BoeingCompany has selected Cisco switching and routing technologies for its worldwide corporatenetwork.

"We are in the process of deploying one of the largest LAN switching networks in the world. Ourgrowing business needs are tightly linked to emerging network-based applications," said AllenBallinger, Boeing's manager of distributed network integration. The business climate at The Boeing Company requires seamless support for line of businessapplications, multimedia applications to support training and remote collaboration, and asignificant upgrade in network capacity to include high-speed switching, gigabit LAN and SONETtechnologies. The network will serve more than 225,000 employees worldwide.
