SAN JOSE, Calif. - April 17, 1997 - Cisco Systems, Inc. announced today thatFreeside Communications, Inc. has selected the Cisco AS5200 universal accessserver as its platform to meet the demands of high-bandwidth services such asIntegrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) and multimedia. Freeside is now ableto provide maximum Internet access and reliability for its customers with highbandwidth needs.
Freeside and Cisco are working together to deploy an end-to-end, scalable accesssolution that provides high-performance dialup and dedicated access and enables avariety of value-added network services through the Cisco IOS(TM) softwareplatform. The scalability of this solution will enable Freeside to keep itsconnectivity/user ratio high, deliver reliable access, and provide a higher levelof service to customers with intensive bandwidth requirements.
