Cisco Systems Names Four Top Sales and Marketing Executives

SAN JOSE, Calif. - October 1, 1996 - Cisco Systems Inc. todayannounced the appointment of four senior executives to key marketingand sales roles.

Gary Daichendt, 45, was named senior vice president of Worldwide Sales.He previously was vice president of Cisco's IntercontinentalOperations. Daichendt, who has more than 20 years' experience ininternational and U.S. sales, joined Cisco in 1994. Previously, heworked for IBM and for Wang Laboratories, where he was vice presidentof worldwide marketing. He succeeds Donald LeBeau, who has taken aleave of absence for personal reasons.

Don Listwin 37, has been named senior vice president for Cisco IOSDevelopment and Marketing. He will oversee all aspects of the company'sefforts to develop Cisco IOS(tm) softwareinto an open industry standardfor internetworking. He also will be Cisco's chief marketing officer.He most recently was vice president and general manager of Cisco'sAccess Business Unit.

Daichendt and Listwin will both report to John Chambers,president and CEO.

James Richardson,39, has been appointed senior vice president ofEuropean Operations. He was vice president of U.S. Sales Operationsbefore being appointed vice president for Europe, Middle East andAfrica in June. His new position adds responsibility for Australia andNew Zealand.

Tak Matsumoto, 55, has been named vice president for Asia Operations,including Japan and all of Asia. Most recently he was Cisco's vicepresident for Japan Operations, where his accomplishments includedcreation of a unique joint venture with 13 major Japanese companies.

Richardson and Matsumoto will report to Daichendt.
