SAN JOSE, Calif.-October 16, 1996- Cisco Systems, Inc. today announcedthe appointment of general managers to its Access Business Unit andSmall Internetworks Business Unit.
Kevin Kennedy, 40, was named vice president and general manger of theAccess Business Unit, which develops and markets both branch officeinternetworking and dial Access Solutions. Previously he was vicepresident of the Regional Office/Branch Office division of the AccessBusiness Unit. Kennedy joined Cisco in 1993 after 16 years at AT&T BellLabs.
Howard Charney, 48, was named vice president and general manager of thenewly formed Small Internetworks Business Unit, which focuses onnetworking systems solutions for small and medium-sized businesses. Hewas previously vice president of the Desktop Connectivity Division inCisco's Workgroup Business Unit. Charney was the founder and chiefexecutive officer of Grand Junction Networks, which was acquired byCisco in 1995.
Kennedy and Charney will report to Selby Wellman, senior vice presidentof business units for Cisco.
