Cisco Makes Equity Investment in Palo Alto-Based Network Software Company

SAN JOSE, Calif., February 27, 1995 -- Cisco Systems, Inc., todayannounced it has purchased a preferred stock equity interest inprivately held Palo Alto-based NETSYS Technologies, Inc. Additionally,Cisco will obtain a seat on the NETSYS Technologies' board of directors.

NETSYS Technologies, Inc., founded in 1991, is a developer of problemsolving, modeling and simulation software that allows network managers tosolve network problems as they occur and simulate production networks using"what-if" scenarios. The investment follows a recent distributionannouncement (Jan. 9, 1995) between the two companies which will allowCisco to resell the NETSYS Connectivity Toolkit. Cisco will also use theproduct internally for customer support.
