Cisco Systems Products to Be Distributed By Ameritech

MENLO PARK, Calif., Oct. 12, 1993 -- Cisco Systems, Inc., announcedtoday that its internetworking products, including multiprotocol routers andinternetworking servers, will be distributed by Ameritech, a provider offull-service communications and advanced information services.

Under the agreement, Ameritech will offer Cisco Systems' productsin the five-state Ameritech region, which includes Ohio, Illinois,Michigan, Indiana and Wisconsin, in conjunction with Ameritech's wide- andlocal-area network integration and remote network management services.Cisco's family of routers includes the Cisco 2000, 3000 and 4000 series ofremote access systems and, for large systems, the Cisco 7000 series andCisco AGS+. Services to be provided by Ameritech include Ameritech PacketNetwork (X.25), Ameritech Base Rate Dedicated Channel Service (2.4Kbps to64Kbps), Ameritech DS1 and DS3 Services (1.544Mb to 44.736Mb), SwitchedMultimegabit Data Service (SMDS), Frame Relay and Ameritech 384 Service.

"The broadspectrum of protocols and extensive data network services provided by Ciscorouters support our efforts to be the leader in providing enterprise-wideswitched digital and fast packet services, such as ISDN, Frame Relay andSMDS."
