Cisco's annual Corporate Social Responsibility Report highlights many success stories

Cisco's annual CSR report reflects the company's efforts to inspire and connect people through global problem solving.

We've shown how working with our technology partners can open the door to innovation and progress and help grow inclusive, prosperous economies.

Our annual CSR report reflects our efforts to inspire and connect people, invest in opportunities that accelerate global problem solving, and ultimately empower people everywhere to work toward eradicating poverty, unemployment, climate change, and hunger. Highlights from the FY17 report include:

  • Enabling people to reach their full potential in a digital economy: In FY17, we reached 19% more students through Networking Academy, serving over 1.3 million students across 180 countries worldwide, with 24 percent of these female.
  • Advancing positive social and environmental change by investing in global problem solvers: In FY17, we positively impacted more than 154 million people, putting us at 232 million, or 23% of our 1 billion goal.
  • Cisco and the Cisco Foundation donated $355 million in cash and in-kind contributions (up from $309 million in FY16) and employee volunteering increased 64% from 187,100 hours in FY16 to more than 358,000 hours in FY17.
  • Promoting sustainable outcomes across our business operations, supply chain, and customer base: We met our FY17 goal, reducing total Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions worldwide by 41% absolute (compared to our FY07 baseline).

We have set bold goals for the future, such as positively impacting 1 billion people by 2025, reaching two million Cisco Networking Academy students per year by 2021, and achieving 80% employee engagement by 2020.
