Cisco expands its product line manufactured in Russia

Moscow, Russia – October 25, 2011 – Cisco today announced the next step of localizing its product manufacturing in Russia:  A global manufacturing contractor located in Tver will produce Cisco® set-top boxes, which enable the transmission of video content and new television services for Internet-based television (IPTV) networks.  

The Cisco set-top boxes manufactured in Russiawill significantly expand the range of services offered by IPTV service providers in the local market offering features including digital recording, live pausing, and the personal delivery of TV and video video on demand. 

The pilot batch of Cisco set-top boxes ISB2230 (with hard drive) and ISB2200 (without hard drive) was successfully tested early in September of this year.  At present manufacturing facilities are ready for the volume production of set-top boxes.  The first large consignment of the product will be manufactured in October for leading Russian mobile operator VimpelCom (operating under the BeeLine brand).
