TOKYO, October 28, 2008 - Cisco Systems, Godo Kaisha (President and CEO: Edzard Overbeek; location: Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo) today announced that Capcom Co., Ltd. (President and COO: Haruhiro Tsujimoto; location: Chuo-ku, Osaka) has deployed Cisco® Unified Communications to improve employee efficiency and make voice communications more convenient.By introducing this technology, Capcom has also reduced the workload associated with setting up and maintaining its telephone system.

After deploying this solution, Capcom found that both the convenience and call quality of phone communications improved dramatically, and the workload associated with setting up and maintaining the phone system was greatly reduced, increasing employee work efficiency. Just two months after making the decision to introduce Cisco Unified Communications, the Internet Protocol (IP) phone system was up and running.

Cisco Unified Communications makes it easy for Capcom employees to look up phone numbers, and phone extensions can be called up instantly by personnel in overseas offices, greatly enhancing the convenience of phone communications. For example, employee seating arrangements change frequently in Capcom's quality-control department, requiring the previous phone directory to undergo daily maintenance and requiring officewide notifications of extension number changes each time. With the introduction of the new IP phone system there is no need to change numbers when an employee moves to a different desk, easing the maintenance workload considerably.
