SAN JOSE, Calif. – May 22, 2014 – Cisco and Bank of America today announced they are partnering to implement a service that uses Cisco TelePresence high-definition video and collaboration technology to enable customers to meet face-to-face with Bank of America small business bankers, home loans officers and financial solutions advisors in approximately 500 of its banking centers.

"We are here to help make the financial lives of our customers better through every connection we have with them," said Rob Aulebach, Bank of America's ATM Channel and Retail Distribution Executive.

"Convenient access to help when, where and how a customer needs it is the cornerstone of how we serve our customers. We are able to bring our expertise closer to our customers with face-to-face interaction provided through our partnership with Cisco."

This innovative solution completed a successful pilot program at more than 85 banking centers where more than 10,000 customers interacted with Bank of America specialists through Cisco's video conferencing technology. Bank of America is expanding its service to offer access to financial specialists remotely through video conferencing in approximately 500 locations throughout the U.S., which is one of the largest deployments of this kind of service in the United States.

"Although many customers research financial products online, a significant number of customers still feel more comfortable making purchases and certain transactions in person at our banking centers,"  reports Aulebach. "This technology allows more of our customers to have the conversations they need in the privacy of an office in one of our banking centers when a specalist is not immediately available in the banking center."

With Cisco TelePresence video technology, Bank of America specialists can meet where it is convenient for their customers — on-demand in a bank branch—while providing the personable experience of a face-to-face meeting. The large screens create a positive experience: the Bank of America representative is seated across the virtual desk from the customer, and the customer can have questions answered on the spot.

"By connecting over Cisco TelePresence, Bank of America customers are now able to meet face-to-face with a wider number of specialists to get answers to their financial questions and confidently manage their accounts— proving amazing things are possible when you connect face to face," said Woody Sessoms, senior vice president of Global Enterprise of Cisco.
