Spark Haus assembles at SXSW 2017

See how this pop-up is fueling discussion for the future of collaboration tech.

Cisco's messaging and interactive meeting tool Spark will make its mark again this year at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas.

Constantly on the edge of the newest developments in the industry, SXSW is a perfect platform for one of Cisco's most inventive products. The annual SXSW conference and festival brings creative people together from the worlds of film, music, comedy, and technology.

With a bustling tech scene at SXSW, attendees travel to Austin to learn about the latest in innovation. This year's lineup is also boasting the world's first virtual-reality motion ride where adventure-seekers can experience a Tokyo flyby via 8K video. Fortune reports that connected cars is another hot topic, with plenty of SXSW Interactive panels focusing on transportation tech and autonomous vehicles, which will no doubt spark privacy and policy discussions.

Those conversations can continue at the Cisco Spark Haus, a pop-up shop of sorts where developers can meet up.  The "haus" will include space for tech leaders to share insight—a casual area for attendees to meet and chat about Spark and APIs. The dream of Spark Haus is to create a place for innovative discussion to blossom.

Angel investor Jason Calacanis will host a live taping of the podcast "Startup Tuneup" at Spark Haus. Other events include creating art with design expert Lauren Dickens and illustrator Brad Woodard making personal avatars.

New to the stage this year is Spark Board, Cisco's collaboration tool for conferencing, messaging, and white boarding. With collaboration and communication happening this year at Spark Haus, and plenty of new innovation opportunities with Spark Board, we're looking forward to what will come from the conference.
