Connected North is the groundbreaking program that uses Cisco's telepresence technology to bring an immersive virtual solution into the classroom to help address the educational needs of children living in Canada's north. Cisco has worked to bring together an ecosystem of partners, including Virtual Researcher on Call (VROC), governments, NGOs like Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami, foundations, media companies, Cisco employees, and Cisco customers and partners in order to bring this idea to life. Program focus areas include: bringing experts into the classroom to expand curriculum, linking children across Canada for cultural exchange, and supporting teachers with virtual professional development and mentoring.
