SVP, General Manager Cisco Meraki
Todd Nightingale is the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cisco Meraki, Cisco’s cloud-managed IT business unit. Meraki’s solutions include wireless, switching, security, SD-WAN, smart cameras, application performance, and endpoint management; all centrally managed in Meraki’s cloud-based Dashboard.
Nightingale joined Cisco with the Meraki acquisition in 2012, and assumed the role as General Manager in 2013. He currently leads a global team of over 2,000 employees and manages a $2B+ business. Under Nightingale’s guidance, Meraki’s portfolio has expanded its scope from cloud-managed wireless to cloud-managed networking to cloud-managed IT.
With over 420,000 customers in more than 190 countries, Meraki has 2 million-plus networks online across the globe. Driven by Nightingale’s vision of a simple, secure, digital workplace leveraged by fully integrated hardware, software and cloud services, Meraki’s nimble engineering-driven business model places them amongst Cisco’s fastest growing portfolios.
Prior to his current role, Nightingale oversaw Meraki’s Architecture, Service Provider and Strategy teams. Before joining Meraki, he was the Vice President of Engineering at AirDefense where he was responsible for all product development. In 2008, Nightingale shepherded AirDefense through a successful acquisition by Motorola, after which he assumed General Manager responsibilities.
With experience in silicon development, network security, software services, network protocol development, Nightingale has propelled a number of teams to high-growth through complicated transitions and difficult turnarounds.
Nightingale holds his Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
