Rachel Barger
SVP, Americas

Rachel Barger is Senior Vice President of the Americas, the largest of Cisco’s three geographic regions, responsible for approximately $37 billion in annual product and services sales for the company. She leads a richly diverse and dynamic team that spans across 17 countries and six theaters (including Service Provider, Canada, Latin America, U.S. Commercial, U.S. Public Sector and the Global Enterprise Segment). 

Rachel is hyper-focused on building strong customer and partner relationships, understanding the business impact behind technology, and applying industry context to every interaction through change management and value realization. She brings a global perspective with a keen eye on driving customer and employee experience, and delivering digital transformation and as-a-service outcomes.

In Rachel’s previous role at Cisco, she led the Americas’ Global Enterprise Segment, Cisco’s largest sales theater, responsible for more than 500 of the company’s top strategic clients. Over the span of her 20+ years of experience in the technology sector, she has served some of the world’s most prestigious organizations, leading teams in Southeast Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She has had tremendous influence in helping teams realize success across a breadth of different areas, including services, customer success and sales, as well as with enterprise application software and annual software revenue in some of the world’s fastest growing markets. 

Her ability to create a strong vision for customers while executing with precision has been a defining factor in how Rachel has led highly engaged teams and achieved results. She’s also extremely passionate about what the Americas team can continue to make possible in the areas of manufacturing, digital supply chain/industry 4.0 and the future of hybrid work.

Rachel’s leadership style has been defined by her known track record of delivering profitable growth, building high-performance teams and relentlessly driving forward innovative approaches, technology transformation and an inclusive culture for all. Her focus on being customer-obsessed, inspiring the team around her as well as inspiring our customers and partners, is apparent in everything she does. It’s this growth mindset that Rachel adopts for herself and within her team that makes everyone involved better together and more successful. 

Located in Atlanta, Rachel holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management (UNSW) as well as a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware. Outside regular work hours, Rachel is proud to be the Global Sponsor for Women of Cisco and the executive sponsor for Cisco’s PRIDE ERO with a communities-focused impact. She is also a member of the Exceptional Women Foundation (EWA) and the acting Chief on the Advisory Board for the Singapore Management University School of Computing and Information Systems.
