LAS VEGAS, Nev., May 2, 1994 -- Key elements of Cisco Systems'recently announced CiscoFusion(tm)architecture for switched internetworkingwill be demonstrated at the booths of seven companies duringNETWORLD+INTEROP 94 this week.
At their respective booths, Cabletron, Fore Systems, ODS, NEC,NET/Adaptive, Sprint, and Verilink will all be demonstrating connectivityof their products to Cisco7000 or Cisco 7010 routers with Cisco'snew native ATMInterface Processor (AIP). The AIP is the industry's only155-Mbps ATM interface for routers that supports both the AAL5 and AAL3/4industry standards for segmentation and reassembly of data into cells, aswell as the ATM Forum signaling standard.
Additionally, in its own booth, Cisco will be operating even moreelements of the CiscoFusion architecture, including the new Cisco Catalyst and Cisco ATMswitches, the latter of which will be used to demonstratethe industry's first connection between an IBM mainframe and an ATM routernetwork.
"The rapid acceptance of the CiscoFusion architecture and itsassociated products has been extremely gratifying," said Larry Lang, product line manager for Cisco Systems. "Customers will be the realbeneficiaries of Cisco's evolutionary approach to the adoption of switchedinternetworking. CiscoFusion will give them the reliability andscalability of internetworks that they expect today, along with the higherperformance and easier management that they expect from ATM and LANswitching as those technologies mature."
