Cisco and Lumos Networks Prepare Fiber Infrastructure for 100G Network
Ultra High-Speed Network to be Used for Research and Education Applications Throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region
SAN JOSE, Calif., March 26, 2012 – Cisco today announced that Lumos Networks, a fiber-based service provider in the mid-Atlantic region, has successfully completed a technology test of Cisco's 100 Gigabit (100G) coherent DWDM solution across its service area. This performance validation confirms that Lumos Networks can meet growing customer demand for high-capacity bandwidth on its existing 10G fiber plant simply by deploying 100G line cards in its current Cisco ONS 15454 platforms.

- Lumos Networks has completed the successful testing of Cisco's 100 Gigabit coherent DWDM technology on the Cisco ONS 15454 platform, proving that its network is ready to support these types of high-speed services.
