Accomplished Service Provider Industry Sales Executives Join Cisco

Former Juniper Networks Sales Leaders to Augment Sales Leadership Team

SAN JOSE, Calif. – August 5, 2011 – Cisco today announced the appointment of Neal Oristano as vice president, global service provider market segment sales. Oristano joins Cisco from Juniper Networks where he was senior vice president of Americas service provider sales for the past seven years.

Cisco today also announced the appointment of vice president Jim Labovites who also joins the company from Juniper Networks where he also held a leadership position in the service provider sales organization.

Neal Oristano will report to Senior Vice President Global Service Provider Market Segment Nick Adamo and will support Adamo in driving global service provider market strategy. Jim Labovites will join the US service provider sales leadership team and focus on the North America service provider market, reporting to Vice President US Service Provider Sales, Michael Glickman.

In their new roles, Oristano and Labovites will be backed by Cisco’s industry-leading service provider product and services portfolio which includes the Carrier Routing System 3 (CRS-3), Aggregated Services Routing (ASR) routing platforms, Cisco Videoscape TV platform and Cisco data center and managed services offerings.

Cisco’s CRS-3, ASR 9000 and ASR 5000 routing platforms are three of its fastest growing product families. The less-than-one-year-old CRS-3 had shipped to more than 80 global service providers in more than 30 countries by the end of Cisco’s fiscal third quarter.

Enabled by Cisco nV technology, Cisco’s newest ASR 9000 system offers an industry-leading system capability 36 times that of competing products. The Cisco ASR 5000 platform is playing a key role in enabling the world’s leading mobile operators to manage growth in mobile broadband services.

In his role as senior vice president of America's sales at Juniper Networks, Neal Oristano oversaw all service provider and corporate sales throughout Canada, Latin America and the United States. Oristano was formerly vice president of America's sales at 3Com Corporation. Prior to 3Com, he served as vice president of America's sales at Unisphere Networks and as vice president of worldwide service provider sales at Lucent Technologies. He has also held direct and indirect sales positions at AT&T, Bay Networks, Cisco and Digital Equipment Corp.
