SAN JOSE, Calif, November 19, 2013.- In support of Cisco’s Global Site Strategy, the company is establishing a Cisco® Support Center (CSC) in Mexico City in order to support local and regional operations and create capacity to service customers in the Spanish language. This will supplement other Cisco Support Centers based in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, USA; Bangalore, India; and Krakow, Poland.

After an extensive assessment of cities across Latin America, Mexico City was chosen because of its strategic geographical location with a time zone aligned to the United States, and easy access to the rest of the countries in the region. The country also offers cost competitive talent having access to world class academia as well as bilingual engineers specialized in networking, routing, switching, voice, and security that will be required to operate the new center.

The Mexico City CSC will be a shared services center supporting customers across the North America and Latin American region. It will complement existing locations and will provide services across multiple functional groups including Cisco Services, Finance, Operations and others.

Currently, Cisco has a Technical Support Center (TAC) based in Mexico City and those operations will be expanded to support the Mexico City CSC.

The CSC is expected to start operations in fall 2014 and will involve the creation of a few hundred jobs over the next couple of years.
