Carl J. Wiese Senior Vice President, Global Collaboration
Carl Wiese is Senior Vice President of Cisco Global Collaboration and co-chair of the Collaboration Architecture Board, responsible for leading Cisco's global collaboration business. He directs the sales and go-to-market strategy for collaboration, working in close partnership with engineering to define Cisco's long-term portfolio strategy.
In his previous role as Vice President of U.S./Canada Advanced Technologies, Wiese and his team of 1800 specialists focused on incubating sales and deployment processes for new and emerging technologies, representing Cisco's next billion-dollar-plus markets. During his tenure, he led all new advanced technologies to a leading market share.
Wiese has over 25 years experience in sales, marketing, services, and product management for high-technology companies. Prior to joining Cisco, he held various executive roles at Avaya. As Vice President of Enterprise Marketing, he built and led a team of sales specialists focused on advanced technologies. As Vice President of Product Management for telephony products, his responsibilities included product strategy, product development, pricing, and lifecycle management across the entire family of telephony products. He has also held executive positions at Lucent, Apple Computer, and Texas Instruments.
Wiese has established himself as an industry expert and an executive thought leader in collaboration technologies, including telepresence, unified communications, conferencing, video, and new consumption models. He is the co-author of The Collaboration Imperative: Executive Strategies for Unlocking Your Organization's True Potential, published in 2011.
Wiese holds a bachelor of science degree from Oklahoma State University.
