The Cisco Partner Summit is the annual conference for Cisco System's channel partners. Since meeting with its channel partners at last year's Summit, Cisco has been hard at work responding to their concerns in a changing and difficult marketplace. This year's Summit, held April 13-April 17 in Las Vegas, Nevada, will showcase many of the new programs and initiatives Cisco has developed over the last year to help its channel partners reach greater profitability.
Cisco CEO John Chambers will deliver the Summit's keynote welcoming address, providing channel partners an overview of how Cisco over the last year has responded to their concerns and needs, as well as previewing the ways Cisco will continue to help partners improve their businesses. British entrepreneur, adventurer, and head of the Virgin Group Ltd., Sir Richard Branson, will deliver the conference's closing address. Branson has founded more than 170 companies, including Virgin Atlantic Airways, Virgin Music retail stores, the Virgin record label, a mobile phone company, a financial services firm, a health club chain, and many more.
Other executives from Cisco speaking at the conference include Paul Mountford, Cisco's vice president of worldwide channels; Wim Elfrink, senior vice president of customer advocacy; Brad Boston, chief information officer; James Richardson, chief marketing officer; Charles Giancarlo, general manager of the switching, voice and carrier systems group; and Mike Volpi, senior vice president of the routing technology group.
