21st Century Schools Education Initiative

Cisco Systems President and CEO, John Chambers, unveils a new education-focused initiative directed at school districts in Mississippi regions that were affected by Hurricane Katrina. A long-time proponent of blending technology and education, Cisco is helping lead a coalition of public, private and non-profit organizations to provide a holistic approach to rebuilding and improving the local schools with a "21st century" educational approach. Other speakers include Hon. Haley Barbour, governor of Mississippi, Dr. Hank Bounds, Mississippi state superintendent of education and Jim Barksdale, chair of governor's commission on recovery, rebuilding and renewal.
