Cisco Systems Wins Verizon Recognition Award for Next Generation Optical Solutions

May 20, 2004 - Verizon presented the Cisco Systems verification teams a Recognition Award for the Cisco ONS 15454 next generation SONET solutions in a ceremony held May 4, 2004 at the Cisco Systems San Jose lab research and development facility. According to Verizon, Cisco Systems verification teams were selected for this award because of their commitment to excellence and the use of quality systems for test planning, test execution, documentation and resources.

The Verizon Testing Partner program is designed to ensure quality and speed in the delivery of technology solutions to Verizon's network. Under this program, Cisco and Verizon engage in the development of test cases and compare their individual test results. With demonstrated excellence, Verizon can accept future test results as accurate, trusted and valid. Jim Sylvester, Vice President, Verizon Technology and Alex Laparidis, Director, Verizon Systems Integration and Testing, presented the recognition award.

Cisco has continued to demonstrate quality leadership in its optical portfolio. As Testing Partner products, the Cisco ONS 15454 reduces Verizon's testing costs and speed to deployment by Verizon's enterprise customers by minimizing redundant unit and system testing.
