Q&A: Cisco Introduces Cisco Unify, A New Suite of Strategic Business Applications for Channel Partners in EMEA

January 14, 2002

Cisco vice president of Worldwide Channel and Alliances in Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), Paris Arey, discusses a new suite of strategic business planning tools aimed to bring Cisco and its Channel Partners' businesses closer together in EMEA.

What is Cisco announcing today?
Cisco is announcing an innovative channel initiative - Cisco Unify. This is an EMEA initiative that provides EMEA Channel Partners as well as Cisco Channel Account Managers (CAM) and System Engineers (SEs) with a suite of strategic business planning tools. This comprehensive resource brings together a consolidated suite of web-based applications to help the Channel Partner, CAM and SE develop a sustainable value-based business model. There are four areas within Cisco Unify: Unify Business, Unify Relationship, Unify Knowledge and Unify Support.

Why was Cisco Unify created?
Cisco Unify was created to further support our Channel Partners and Cisco CAMS and SEs in the joint development of sustainable business models. We believe that the sustainable business model of the next market evolution is one that focuses on value-based services. We specifically design all of our new programs to help simplify and accelerate our Channel Partners' migration to a sustainable value-based business model.

When will Cisco Unify be available for use by your Channel Partners?
Cisco Unify will be rolled-out in a phased approach. From January 14th 2002 all Gold Certified Channel Partners in EMEA will receive a copy of Cisco Unify from their Cisco CAM. Based on the response to the application suite, it will be made available to all Certified Channel Partners (Silver and Premier) in EMEA.
