Cisco Systems Appoints New Managing Director in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - February 18, 2005 - Cisco Systems® has appointed Kumaran Singaram to head its Malaysia operations. Reporting to Gordon Astles, president for Cisco® in Asia Pacific, Mr Singaram will be responsible for all of Cisco's sales and marketing activities in the country.
Mr Singaram has been with Cisco for five years and was previously the Director of Service Provider Operations for South Asia. He will be based in Kuala Lumpur.
Cisco has been playing a leading role in assisting service providers in Malaysia as they build Internet Protocol (IP)-based networking infrastructure. The company also tailors its industry-leading IP networking solutions to large enterprises and commercial/small and medium business customers in Malaysia. Cisco's Linksys division produces networking solutions for home and small office home office (SOHO) end-users.
Mr Singaram has over 18 years of experience in the IT and telecommunications industry having held positions at AT&T and Nortel. Since joining Cisco, he has led teams in introducing IP-based next generation networking solutions and systems in markets across Asia.
