Thomas was appointed as president of Cisco Systems China in November 2005. In this role, he is overseeing the China operation and leading the China team to drive its business growth and market development. Thomas was promoted to vice president, Cisco Systems, on May 1st, 2002, to manage the Customer Advocacy Organization of Cisco Asia Pacific. Prior to that, he was the vice president of Cisco China, where he was responsible for the business development of its Large Enterprise and Governments Organization. Thomas joined Cisco China in 1998 when he started to lead the Enterprise Line of Business. At this position, he not only successfully managed the business to exceed the revenue target, but also grew the financial service sector into an independent operation. Educated with both Chinese and western culture, Thomas has obtained a full range of management experience. With over a decade of working experience in China, he also has a deep understanding and passion on China's IT industry. He was invited to lecture in a large number of industry conferences to share his views on technology and application. Before joining Cisco, Thomas was the general manager of DEC China. During his 13 years with DEC, he held a variety of leadership roles in sales, marketing and overall business operation. Thomas spent 18 years living and working in Canada and the US. He received a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Carleton University in Canada. |
